Gerben joined Ninety One in July 2008 and joined Ethos in 2020 when Ethos took over management of the Ninety One Africa PE funds. Gerben has developed extensive experience across the private equity value chain across the African continent and has been involved in deal sourcing, execution, restructuring, monitoring and disposals of multiple investments.
Gerben has been responsible for investments in amongst others financial services, telecommunication and transport & logistics and currently holds board positions in IDM, J&J Transport, IHS Towers and Kamoso. Before joining [Ethos and Ninety One], Gerben worked as a senior Private Equity investment professional at FMO, the Dutch development bank based in The Hague (between 2000-2008). Gerben holds a Master of Science degree in Economics from the University of Amsterdam.
